It has been deeply impressed in my heart to begin this conversation and I truly believe I am called to lead it.
I am Dr. Nshalati Salvation Mathebula an MBChB graduate and currently a registrar for a masters program in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with over five years of experience caring for women in this field.
I still remember my very first day in the labour ward , the moment I gloved up and delivered my first baby(patient’s baby), I felt a profound peace and an unshakable connection. I knew then that this was more than a profession; it was my purpose.
It has been an incredible journey of serving women and not only through medical knowledge and skill, but also by bringing compassion, light, and presence into each encounter.
This is why I am so excited to take these conversations into writing. My original dream was to share through a videocast, but time constraints have not allowed that process and we cannot wait any longer. The conversations must begin now.
One of the main reasons I felt compelled to start this conversation on women’s health is the overwhelming amount of misinformation being spread, often by influential voices who are not trained in the field. I believe it is time for us, as experts, to rise and share accurate, trustworthy information that truly serves women.
That being said, please remember: while I will be sharing evidence-based guidance, this space does not replace a consultation with your obstetrician-gynaecologist. Every woman’s health journey is unique, and management often needs to be tailored individually.
My hope is that through these conversations, you will be empowered, informed, and prepared to make the best decisions for your health.
You know what they always say “reading outside your field broadens your perspective“. May this bring to you fresh insights.
what is EPIFEM Health ?
EPIFEM Health is simply a shortcut for Epitome of Feminine Health — which means the highest standard of women’s health, or excellent female health.
And because you deserve nothing less than the best, I will be addressing you as the EPIFEM Queen , a woman worthy of the highest level of care, wisdom, and knowledge about her body and health.
I would love to hear from you: What topics around women’s health and wellness matter most to you? What conversations should we open together?
I am honoured to walk this journey with you. Together, we will create a safe and inspiring space where women’s health is celebrated, nurtured, and elevated.
Thanks again for the love, you’ll be hearing from me soon!
Love
Dr Nshali
